MRR Associates in the Courtroom
On December 9, 2016, one of our Associates, Manny Fishelman, tried an auto accident personal injury case in the District Court for Harford County, Maryland. Nationwide Insurance Company originally denied the claim and refused to make a settlement offer. Shortly before trial, Nationwide offered $6,500.00 in settlement which the client rejected. The case went to trial and was bifurcated on liability and damages. Manny Fishelman tried the case on liability and received judgment in his client’s favor. After the first phase of the trial, Nationwide increased the offer to $28,000.00 which the client rejected. After the second phase of the trial, the District Court judge awarded Manny Fishelman’s client $30,000.00, which is the maximum amount that can be awarded in the District Court of Maryland.
