Fatal Car Accidents in Maryland

Burtonsville, MD – Columbia Pike Crash at Blackburn Rd Takes One LifeFatal accidents occur far too often in Maryland. These incidents take the lives of hundreds of individuals every year. Quite often, people end up suffering fatal injuries in accidents due to the negligent actions of drivers. Some common causes of fatal crashes include:

Impairment: When a driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or even prescription medication, they are less likely to be able to make responsible decisions when operating their vehicles. As a result, they are likely to cause severe accidents that can take the lives of those involved.

Distractions: When operating a vehicle, it is imperative that drivers pay attention to the road ahead in their surroundings at all times. When drivers are eating, talking on the phone, or engaging in other distracting actions, they are not paying attention to their surroundings, which can cause accidents.

Disregarding Traffic Control Devices: When vehicles have the right-of-way to travel through areas, they often do so without thinking. For example, if there is a green light at an intersection, a driver is not typically going to stop or use caution when proceeding through. Unfortunately, there are instances where people run red lights and stop signs and crash into those who have the right-of-way.
