College Park, MD (October 5, 2023) – Over two dozen people were injured as a result of a bus accident that took place in Prince Georges County on Wednesday morning.

Just before 10:20 a.m. on October 4, the Prince George's County Police Department and the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department responded to the scene of a crash on Baltimore Avenue.

According to reports provided by the police, a University of Maryland bus was involved in a collision on Baltimore Avenue at the intersection of University Boulevard. The bus struck a light pole near the University’s campus.

A total of 27 people were hurt as a result of the crash. Multiple emergency medical service units responded to the scene to care for the injured victims.

Those who required further medical assistance were transported to local hospitals.

At this time, the crash is being investigated.
