Frederick, MD (October 31, 2023) – The Maryland State Police out of Frederick County responded to the scene of an automobile accident that occurred on North Market Street.
Reports from the police show that just before 5:00 p.m. on October 28, a pedestrian was walking in the area of North Market Street and Lord Nickens Street. For unknown reasons, a vehicle struck the pedestrian before crashing into a tree. The vehicle caught on fire.
Firefighters and police responded to the scene and shut down the roadway. Firefighters went to work quickly on extinguishing the fire.
Two people were injured due to the crash. Basic Life Support was requested for one of the victims. The second victim suffered more severe injuries, requiring Advance Life Support measures. Both victims were transported to area hospitals.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
