Jarrettsville, MD (November 1, 2023) – A driver lost their life as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on Tuesday morning in Jarrettsville. The Maryland State Police and firefighters were notified of the crash at around 10:30 a.m. on October 31.
Reports from law enforcement show that a Nissan work van and a Hyundai Accent were involved in a head-on collision while traveling on East West Highway near Morse Road. The incident left the Hyundai with moderate damage.
Crash investigations determined that the Hyundai was traveling east on the highway at the time of the accident when the collision occurred. Multiple people were in the Hyundai at the time of the crash.
One person involved in the crash was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased on-site by authorities.
One additional victim suffered injuries and was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, for emergency care.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
