La Plata, MD (September 16, 2023) – A crash reported early Thursday evening sent two people to area hospitals with injuries. The crash occurred just after 5:00 p.m. on September 14.

According to reports from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barack officers, a trooper with the Barack was responding to a motor vehicle collision. As the trooper’s cruiser traveled on St Charles Parkway, it was struck by a Toyota Corolla near the intersection of Billingsley Road.

The trooper and one other person suffered injuries in the crash. Two victims were transported to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland, for emergency medical care.

The accident is being investigated at this time.
