Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Maryland
Fatal pedestrian accidents take the lives of more than 100 people annually in the state of Maryland. Far too many of these accidents are a result of drivers who are reckless and negligent. We see many pedestrians lose their lives as a result of speeding drivers, drivers who fail to yield, and drivers who run red lights or pass through stop signs at intersections.
After losing a loved one in a fatal pedestrian accident, your family has the ability to file a wrongful death claim against the person who is responsible. To prevail, you must clearly demonstrate that negligence played a role in the accident. This involves showing that the defendant who was identified in the accident owed your loved one a duty of care, breached the duty, and caused the accident to occur. Furthermore, he must then demonstrate that you have suffered damages as a result of the accident.
Even though this may seem like a straightforward and easy process, insurance companies will do everything they can to prevent you from recovering compensation.
