Baltimore, MD (August 16, 2023) – The Baltimore Police Department responded to the scene of a major accident that claimed the life of an 88-year-old woman.
The accident occurred on August 14 at around 5:20 p.m.
According to reports provided by the police, a collision between a flatbed truck and a second vehicle took place in the 3700 block of Liberty Heights Avenue in Northwest Baltimore.
The driver of the flatbed truck fled the scene.
Authorities arrived on site and located an 88-year-old woman with severe injuries inside of her vehicle located near the intersection of Callaway Avenue. The woman was rushed to an area hospital, where she passed away from her injuries.
Further investigations revealed that the woman was driving through the intersection when the driver of a white flatbed pickup truck passed through a red light and struck her vehicle.
At this time, investigations are underway.
