Bowie, MD (October 1, 2023) – Four people lost their lives as a result of a major motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Bowie area on Friday evening, September 29.

At around 7:30 p.m., the Prince George’s County Fire Department and area police were called to the scene of a crash on Woodmore Road.

According to investigations from the Prince George’s County Police Department, a collision occurred in the 12,700 block of Woodmore Road during the evening hours. The impact of the crash caused one vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree before catching on fire.

Four people involved in the crash were fatally injured. All four victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities closed down the Woodmore Road between Waterford Mill Road in pleasant prospect as they worked to investigate. The roadway was reopened at approximately 546 a.m. Investigations are currently ongoing.
