Chesapeake Beach, MD (August 21, 2023) – A boat crash was reported in the Chesapeake Beach area that left one person injured while claiming one person’s life. The crash was reported just before 9:45 p.m. on August 19.
According to reports provided by the Calvert dive team, two boats were involved in a collision on Chesapeake Bay in the area near Breezy Point. The incident involved a total of six people, some of whom were injured.
Authorities were requested at this, prompting the response of the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department and EMS.
One person suffered injuries that required further medical attention and was transported to Capital Regional Trauma Center for emergency care.
One victim was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, investigations surrounding the crash are underway.
