Cheverly, MD (August 25, 2023) – Two people were fatally injured as a result of an automobile accident in the Cheverly area on Wednesday morning, August 23.

At around 2:30 a.m., emergency officials were notified that a serious automobile collision occurred on Landover Road.

According to reports provided by the Prince Georges County Police Department, a Toyota Camry and a Kia collided in the 6300 block of Landover Road. The impact of the crash caused the two vehicles to catch on fire.

A man and woman in the Toyota, identified as driver and passenger, were fatally injured. The two victims were pronounced dead by responding officers.

The driver of the Kia fled the scene of the accident on foot.

The Prince George County Police Department is investigating the accident at this time.
