Fatal Auto Accidents in Maryland

Elkridge, MD – One Killed in Washington Blvd Crash at Troy Hill DrFatal automobile accidents take the lives of hundreds of people in Maryland each year. Far too often, these classes are a result of drivers who are negligent. When drivers do not operate safely, it can have devastating consequences for everyone around.

Far too often, innocent lives in fatal collisions are caused by drivers who are impaired, distracted, or otherwise negligent. When drivers do not maintain safe control of their vehicles, they can cause severe accidents that ultimately take innocent lives.

After experiencing the loss of a loved one, your family has the ability to file a wrongful death claim. A wrongful death lawsuit can provide you with financial relief for various damages. In order to file a successful legal claim, you must be able to demonstrate that some form of negligence contributed to the crash. This involves showing that the driver was speeding, drunk, or otherwise negligent.

It is crucial to understand that the state of Maryland follows the laws of contributory negligence. This law essentially states that if your loved one contributed to the accident in any way, your family is barred from recovering any compensation for your losses and damages. Even in cases where the victim contributed one percent of the fault, families will not be able to protect their rights. This makes it vital to work with an Elkridge wrongful death lawyer immediately after losing a loved one. Your attorney will be able to get started on gathering evidence for you to prove that your loved one lost their life due to the negligence of another driver.
