Fatal Car Accidents in Maryland
Fatal accidents in Maryland take the lives of hundreds of people each year. The unfortunate truth is that the majority of these crashes are entirely preventable. Innocent people continue to lose their lives as a result of driver negligence. We see many accidents take place as a result of motorists who are distracted, impaired, or speeding.
After enduring the loss of a loved one, your family has the ability to file a wrongful death claim against the responsible party. In Maryland, the statute of limitations for wrongful death claims, as outlined in Courts and Judicial Proceedings Section 3-904(g)(1), is typically three years from the date of the decedent's passing. While there are exceptions to this rule, this is the primary limitation period applied in the vast majority of wrongful death cases in Maryland.
For this reason, it is imperative that you seek legal representation immediately after experiencing the loss of a loved one. Your wrongful death lawyer in Forest Hill will want to get started on gathering evidence on your behalf in fighting for fair compensation for your losses and damages.
