Fatal Car Accidents in Maryland
The state of Maryland continues to witness a significant number of automobile accidents, resulting in the loss of hundreds of lives each year. Regrettably, many of these accidents are entirely preventable.
The unfortunate truth is that innocent individuals are still falling victim to fatal accidents caused by reckless drivers who engage in reckless actions that disregard the safety of other motorists. Several common factors have emerged as leading causes of these fatal collisions within Maryland:
- Driving Under the Influence: Motorists operating their vehicles while under the influence of alcohol or drugs pose a significant threat to themselves and others on the road.
- Ignoring Traffic Signals: Red lights, stop signs, and other traffic control devices are all too often disregarded by negligent drivers, putting countless lives at risk.
- Excessive Speed: Some motorists fail to adjust their speed according to road conditions, driving at unsafe speeds that contribute to fatal accidents.
- Distracted Driving: The prevalence of distractions, such as cell phones and other electronic devices, has led to a rise in accidents caused by drivers who are not fully attentive to the road.
