Joppa, MD (September 4, 2023) – A major crash involving multiple vehicles was reported in the Joppa area. Just before 4:00 p.m. on September 1, calls for help were received by the Maryland state police and the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
According to a report, a total of seven vehicles collided on the northbound side of Interstate 95. The incident blocked several lanes just past Exit 74 for Mountain Road.
Authorities arrived at the scene and located multiple damaged vehicles blocking several lanes.
One person was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters using the Jaws of Life.
Emergency medical services responded to the site of the accident to render aid to the injured victims. Those who required further medical care were transported to local hospitals.
The accident is currently being investigated.
