Lexington Park, MD (August 4, 2023) – The Police in Lexington Park confirmed that a motorcyclist lost their life as a result of an automobile accident that occurred during the evening hours on Thursday, August 3.
Just before 5:00 p.m., authorities were dispatched to the scene of an accident on Three Notch Road.
Reports from the police show that a 2023 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle and a 2012 Ford Explorer were on the roadway near Thames Avenue, blocking the road. Reports indicate that the driver of the Ford attempted to make a U-turn on the road. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist, which resulted in the two vehicles colliding.
The motorcyclist was severely injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Jake Alexander Garrett.
The driver of the Ford, identified as 38-year-old Christine Elizabeth Bowling, was not injured in the crash.
At this time, investigations are underway.
