Mechanicsville, MD (May 31, 2023) – Several students suffered injuries following a major bus accident that took place on Tuesday afternoon, May 30.
At around 2:45 p.m., the police, firefighters, and emergency rescue personnel all reported to the site of an accident on Three Notch Road.
Reports from authorities indicate that St. Mary’s County Public School bus 555 was involved in a collision with a bus on the roadway near Old Flora Corner Road. The impact of the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway.
Multiple students suffered injuries as a result of the accident. Medical personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid to several victims. A total of five people were transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, where they underwent emergency care.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
