Owings Mills, MD (November 25, 2023) – A fatal accident was reported in the Owings Mills area on Wednesday afternoon, November 22. At around 1:05 p.m., the Maryland State Police responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 795.

The Ford F-350 then re-entered the roadway and crashed head-on into a 2017 Toyota RAV-4. A fourth vehicle, identified as a 2016 Toyota Corolla, struck debris from the crash. A 30-year-old woman involved in the crash, identified as Kaitlin Elizabeth Stranick of Hanover, Pennsylvania, was pronounced deceased from her injuries. A 23-year-old male was then transported to a local hospital for medical care. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
We hope the injured victim recovers quickly.
Our condolences go out to the family of Kaitlin Elizabeth Stranick.
Car Accidents in Maryland
Every year, serious accidents take place in Maryland that leave victims with injuries that affect their lives forever. Some of the common factors in automobile collisions include:
- Impairment: Despite strict laws against it, some individuals still choose to get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or drugs. This impaired decision-making greatly impairs their ability to operate a vehicle safely.
- Speeding: Many drivers fail to obey posted speed limits and end up losing control of their vehicles. Speeding not only reduces a driver's ability to react quickly to unexpected situations but also increases the severity of any resulting collision
- Aggressive Driving Behaviors: Aggressive driving behaviors such as tailgating, weaving through traffic, and running red lights contribute significantly to car accidents in Maryland. These reckless actions not only endanger themselves but also put innocent lives at risk.
