Pedestrian Accidents in Maryland
Pedestrian accidents are the cause of thousands of injuries in Maryland every year. Many of these accidents take place as a result of driver negligence. We often see pedestrians hurt as a result of drivers who fail to stop at crosswalks, run red lights at intersections, and operate their vehicles while distracted.
Pedestrians who are involved in accidents are more likely to suffer serious injuries due to their lack of protection. As a result, it is all too common to see pedestrians left with severe spinal cord fractures, trauma to the head, and other significant injuries. Pedestrian crash victims often require extensive medical care and have to remain hospitalized for several days or weeks after their accidents.
Unfortunately, many victims are forced to spend thousands of dollars on medical care immediately after their crashes. In cases where severe injuries are sustained, victims may have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on long-term therapy and rehabilitation. Unfortunately, many people do not have this type of money to cover the costs that they face. For this reason, our state provides them with the opportunity to seek compensation for their losses and expenses by filing a personal injury claim. A Prince George’s County pedestrian accident lawyer will be able to help guide you through the legal process and fight for fair compensation. It is in your best interest to seek guidance early on to ensure you have the strongest evidence against the defendant.
In Maryland, if you contributed to your accident in any way, you are prevented from making any type of financial recovery. This makes it critically important for you to have a skilled legal team by your side that will be able to prove that the defendant is fully responsible for the accident occurring.
