Riverdale Park, MD (November 23, 2023) – Two children lost their lives as a result of a crash that occurred in the Riverdale Park area on Monday morning, November 20. At around 8:00 a.m., officers with the Prince George’s County Police Department responded to the scene of a crash on Riverdale Road.
According to reports, a 5-year-old and a 10-year-old were both walking on Riverdale Road near Taylor Road, just outside of Riverdale Elementary School, during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, they were struck by a woman driving a van southbound on Taylor Road. An adult male who was walking with the children was also struck by the vehicle.
The two children were severely injured in the crash. They were transported to an area hospital, where they passed away from their injuries. The condition of the adult is not known at this time. Investigations into the crash are underway.
