Waldorf, MD (June 27, 2023) – A bicyclist was left with severe injuries as a result of a crash involving a dump truck that took place on Monday afternoon, June 26.
At around 12:40 p.m., the police and firefighters were called to the scene of a crash on St. Ignatius Drive.
Reports provided by the police show that a dump truck struck a bicyclist on the roadway in the area near Village Street. The bicyclist, a 33-year-old male, became trapped under the dump truck and had to be removed by firefighters.
Emergency medical services responded to provide care for the victim, who was injured as a result of the crash. Due to the head injuries suffered by the bicyclist, MEDEVAC was requested to provide transportation for the victim to a local medical facility for emergency care. The victim was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma Center, where they underwent emergency treatment.
