Hughesville, MD (May 28, 2023) – Two people were transported to area hospitals following a car crash that took place on Friday afternoon in the Hughesville area.
The accident was reported just before 1:10 p.m. on May 26.
Official reports indicate that a black pickup truck was involved in a collision with an unknown number of vehicles on Leonardtown Road near Gallant Green Road. The pickup truck suffered significant front-end damage.
Two people suffered injuries as a result of the accident.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command, Trooper 2, responded to the scene to fly one of the victims to the University of Maryland Capitol Region Trauma Center for emergency medical treatment. The second victim was transported by ambulance to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for further care.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by the police at this time.
