Car Accidents in Maryland
Car accidents are the cause of countless injuries in Maryland every year. There are countless cases where those involved in crashes are left with severe injuries that affect their lives forever.
One of the most common types of injuries reported in car crashes is traumatic brain injury (TBI). This type of injury happens as a result of sudden blows to the head. TBIs vary greatly in their severity, ranging from mild concussions to severe cases where individuals may experience long-term cognitive impairments or even coma.
We also see many individuals suffer severe spinal cord injuries in car accidents. The sudden and severe impact can cause fractures or dislocations of vertebrae, leading to permanent paralysis below the site of injury. These life-altering injuries not only affect mobility but also diminish a victim’s quality of life significantly.
In addition, internal organ injuries are common during car crashes due to blunt trauma caused by seat belts or direct impacts on vital organs like the heart, liver, or kidneys. Internal bleeding or ruptured organs resulting from these injuries pose immediate threats and necessitate prompt medical attention to prevent further complications.
