Wheaton-Glenmont, MD (August 20, 2023) – A major crash reported in Montgomery County left several people injured on Thursday evening, August 17.
Just before 6:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Police Department and area firefighters were called to the scene of an accident on Georgia Avenue.
According to reports, an Audi A6 was heading south on Georgia Avenue when it collided with a Ford pickup truck. The truck was attempting to turn onto a northbound lane in the area near Kayson Street.
The impact of the crash caused the Ford to spin out and detach from the trailer. The vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Traverse. The trailer overturned and was struck by a Ford Taurus.
One person was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated.
A total of seven people, including a pedestrian, were transported to area hospitals for emergency care.
At this time, the crash is being investigated.
